About
Dr. Fried’s foundation as a psychologist integrates her academic training in the psychodynamic and existential traditions with her clinical training in evidence based competencies and treatment approaches, which includes cognitive behavioral and trauma informed therapies.
Combined, this integrated approach offers a collaborative, relationally oriented and clinically effective therapy process to reduce symptoms and improve quality of life.

Approach to therapy
Dr. Fried brings extensive experience treating and diagnosing adults living with mood disorders, anxiety, and problems related to adjustment. With regards to specialized clinical training, she brings experience working with survivors of trauma-related stressors, including experiences of combat traumas, sexual assault/victimization, and childhood abuse/neglect.
Dr. Fried is certified in Cognitive Processing Therapy, a first line treatment for PTSD. Other specializations include working with chronic pain, executive dysfunctions (including ADHD), and psychological problems related to health factors (including sleep/insomnia, smoking cessation).
Dr. Fried also has a background in the visual arts and received her MFA from Carnegie Mellon University in 2010. She believes this formal training has been fundamental to her ongoing work as a psychologist and views the therapeutic process as inherently creative in its use of observation and curiosity toward problem-solving and transformation.
