Approach to therapy

Ms. Carreiro’s approach to therapy is recovery-oriented, flexible, and collaborative. In addition to drawing from CBT, DBT, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), she integrates mindfulness and values-based strategies to support clients in building awareness, strengthening coping skills, and making desired changes in their lives. Her work addresses psychosocial stressors, equips clients with practical skills to navigate life transitions and challenges, and empowers them to access both internal strengths and external sources of support. She is committed to creating a supportive, nonjudgmental space where clients feel empowered to explore their experiences, build on their strengths, and move toward personally meaningful goals. Her therapeutic style is grounded in warmth, curiosity, and flexibility, and she values collaboration and adapting treatment to fit each person’s needs and circumstances.
