About
Alex is a pre-licensed Marriage and Family Therapist who brings warmth, curiosity, and a deep sense of compassion to his work. He is committed to creating a collaborative and affirming space where clients can be seen, heard, and supported in their vulnerability. He believes that healing happens through creativity, authentic connection, and thoughtful self-exploration from an open-minded stance.
He enjoys working with individuals, couples, and college/graduate students navigating a range of concerns, including depression, anxiety, relational distress, major life transitions, and identity-related issues.
Alex embraces his multi-racial identity and mixed cultural background. He has a particular passion for supporting those from marginalized communities and values the unique strengths and challenges that each person brings. In his free time, Alex also enjoys rock climbing, playing board games, watching movies, and socializing with friends.

Approach to therapy
Alex views his work through attachment and strength based lenses that integrate multiple evidence-based models, including Emotionally Focused Therapy, Internal Family Systems, and Relational-Cultural Theory. He strongly believes that growth begins with self-awareness and experiential practices of new actions. He sustains the therapeutic process with connection and compassion, and he is committed to open communication, transparency, and a values-centered focus.
Alex strives to curiously explore clients’ experiences to identify, understand, and build new skills to fulfill clients’ unmet needs and desires. His work is informed by a deep respect for cultural and individual identity, and he brings an inclusive lens to the therapy process. He is attentive to the emotional, cognitive, and cultural patterns that shape how we connect with ourselves and others and works alongside clients to make sense of these patterns. Additionally, as an enthusiastic consumer of all films, as fitting, Alex enjoys learning about clients’ identities and issues through evoked imagery during the therapeutic process.
