About
Dr. Hewett (they/she) is a postdoctoral fellow with a warm, gentle, and compassionate
therapeutic style. They have a deep appreciation for the courage and vulnerability required to seek support through therapy. Their goal is to co-create a secure and generative therapeutic relationship that provides a safe “base camp” from which clients can embark on a deeper journey into self-knowledge and healing.
Approach to therapy
Dr. Hewett works with adults across the lifespan, from young adulthood through retirement age.
Their passion is supporting clients in navigating the challenges and opportunities of major life
transitions and periods of identity development. They have expertise in working with adults who
have experienced acute, developmental, and/or identity-based trauma, as well as with clients
experiencing depression, anxiety, and relationship-related stress. They also support clients
through grief and bereavement. Dr. Hewett enjoys working with LGBTQIA2S+ adults of all
ages, particularly clients with other intersecting marginalized identities, including socioeconomic
status, race, immigration status, and chronic illness.
Their approach to therapy is deeply collaborative. As a therapist, they honor their client’s
expertise in their own story, with a goal to come alongside their client to facilitate meaning-
making, values exploration, and desired change.
